I frequently use hyperlynks to other blogs but this is the first time I have tried hyperlinks to particular passages of scripture.
I don't know if I am doing this right...as I am new to the blog site thing, but here goes. I had a few questions relative to the last sermon "What lies ahead"...they are as follows:
1) I was reviewing Acts 1:1-11 and when Peter says (to the people @ pentecost) "repent and be baptiszed" (Acts 2:38), is peter referencing baptism as a 'condition' of salvation...or is this a reference to the old covenant tradition of John the Baptist? Thus would baptism be more of an outward sign of a believers' obedience/submission to God through christ?
2) When Peter referenced Jesus' command (Acts 1:5) of John's baptism (w/ water), what is the meaning/reference to baptism by fire? Is this baptism that of the indwelling of the holy spirit?
Thank you in advance and for challenging the spirit and the mind w/ your sermon/series.
