New at New Song

NEW is the word at New Song this summer. We have a new sidewalk in the east parking lot, a new sound booth in the gym, a new floor in the lobby, soon we will have a new sign on the building and a new parking lot in the east parking lot of the church and soon, Lord willing, a new Youth Director for our Jr. High and Sr. High ministries.

For the first time VBS is being offered in the evening. Six new people were baptised recently. We have a new worship coordinator. In the Fall, there will be new small groups, new ABF's (Adult Bible Fellowships), new discipleship material. Every month of this year has had new attendance highs over the same month the year before and each week has seen new visitors and guests joining our fellowship. Oh, and don't forget the fantastic new website at www.newsong-church.com. Make sure you type in the www part.

Wow, that's a lot of newness!

Pray that God would be glorified in every new thing.
Pray that people would be gracious and patient with changing personnel.
Pray that all the new things that God has enabled would draw many to a saving relationship with Christ.

Wow. I don't think we'd even recognize it if we showed up Sunday morning. We're still in the process of committing to a church. Here's the front runner thus far:

New City Church sounds like a model for us. We miss you guys but trust that God is doing a great work in and through you both. Thanks for visiting the blog. I hope that what gets posted there by the family of New Song is a great encouragment to your spirit.

I have no doubt that all the great new goings on is a direct result of God glorifying Himself through your firm commitment to prayer. What an encouraging update as Steve and I continue to pray for New Song.

Prayer is definitely the key to all power in ministry.

Here's another great new thing. The other night at prayer, two 24 year old girls walked in off the street saying that they felt drawn by God to come in and told us that they had been seeking a relationship with God.

Two weeks before, a message at New Song resutled in a 4-5 fold increase inthe number of people coming together for corporate prayer on Tuesday nights. When God's people pray, things begin to happen.

Much prayer, much power
Little prayer, little power
No prayer, no power.

May God help us all to trust in prayer and to join with one another in seeking His face in untied, sustained, corporate prayer.

That is all so awesome to hear! Not just the results, but the incredible prayer that's happening. God is so good.

Knowing the godliness of your new youth director's parents and their passion for Jesus(friends of mine), I expect you've chosen well.

And at CrossTown we're celebrating a great children's ministry intern coming our way (knowing her parents, we expect we'll be blessed).

A Musing Mom (who hopes to be enjoying Nickel Creek at Ravinia on Friday)

My wife and I are going to Ravinia on Friday as well.

CrossTown will be very happy with its intern. Godly, responsibile, energetic--just like her mother.
