Extraordinary Prayer

Our church elders have called for a week of extraordinary prayer regarding the needs of our church. The presenting symptom is finances but we are convinced the real issue is spiritual apathy and passion for God himself.

So to all the readers of this blog, would you pray with us that we, the elders and people of New Song Church would hear clearly what the Spirit is saying to our church.

I really like the idea of closing the fast with a communion service.

Chosen Rebel-

I just want to say that the cd of the message on prayer was amazing. It really hit me hard to understand what it means to fast and about prayer. Thank you for the cd.

I appreciate the call to fast and pray because God will be found when we seek Him. Worship with music often draws me into His presence. This week Chris Tomlin's "This is our God" and "Only You" from KJ-52 have been instrumental especially since I was unable to join "the body" for corporate prayer and communion. I have been praying for God to bring revival to NSC. Thanks.

I thank you for declaring a fast and time of prayer. Even though my parents didn't like that I fasted, I learned so much about God and about myself spritually through fasting and through prayer that I would say the eternal benefits of this declared fast and ocassional fasting for God definitely outweighed the temporary "discomfort" of an empty stomach. I hope NSC experiences a revival as a result of this. I will be praying for one!

I am very excited about what God is doing through Pastor Marty and our church! My husband has always turned to fasting and prayer when he is facing a difficult decision or sometimes when God calls him to fast when He is preparing us for something that we don't even know is coming or hasn't happened yet. God is working in our church! The Scriptures that my family and I have been reading in our devotions and studies have been very relevant to what is happening in our church. I am studying about Revival in a book called, "Seeking Him" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, and I thought it was interesting that today's study for my son was Haggai 1....Thanks, New Song leaders, for being devoted to hearing from God...
