President Obama has Ignored Federal Law

This from the Christian Family Coalition

President Barack Obama violated the federal law, specifically, the Defense of Marriage Act (D.O.M.A.) which defines marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman as husband and wife, by signing a presidential memorandum giving federal benefits to the "so-called partners" of federal homosexual employees. In 1996, DOMA passed overwhelmingly in both the House and Senate and was then signed by President Clinton.

"On January 20th, 2009, the President took an oath to uphold the law, he has now openly undermined current law and set a bad example for the rest of the country" stated Anthony Verdugo, Founder and Executive Director, Christian Family Coalition, "he has disregarded every poll and every election in which Americans have clearly rejected homosexual marriage".

The President is free to lobby Congress to enact these benefits if he so wishes, but he has absolutely NO RIGHT to impose his will on the rest of society, he should not misinterpret his political support on November 4th as support for this issue, especially at a time when people are struggling to stay in their homes."

My Comment: Sometimes I think the CFC is a little too vocal, but I think they have nailed this one perfectly.
