What do you need me to preach on?

This is a question that I periodically ask of the congregation to find out the pulse of what the issues are in your lives. Are there topics, themes, books of the Bible, issues in your life or the life of the church, church history that you would like some help with?

I don't want to take the place of your personal study but are there issues that you feel would be appropriate for me to address for the larger body? Let me know what you think.

We've done broad overviews and themes lately, how's about we break-out the microscope and take a slow (methodical and deliberate), up-close look at an epistle or minor prophet?

I remember that exegetical preaching was (in theory), quite popular at one church, except for when you mention Acts or the Gospels, because it meant that they sat through a whole year or more on the same book. Personally, I liked it.

Since the 10 Keys of the Bible, I have had a renewed interest in the Holy Spirit. I would like to see a series on how to REALLY live - day to day - real stuff life with the Holy Spirit alive inside, and how to tap into the HS at work, at home, when no one is looking - things like that. Thank you for asking us what we'd like to hear. I will also pray for what God wants us to hear.

I hesitated to ask this, but I would like to get more guidance on "projecting the image of Christ at work" It is challenging at times to deal with those that do not understand or embrace Christian principles. There are some business venues that are downright vicous and hostile. I would like to be more effective at work where putting profit before ethics is a way of life. Where Christianity is veiwed as something that you put on during Easter or a couple of times a year.

I think what I need is more gospel - the loveliness of Christ, the wretchedness of sin, the power of the Holy Spirit.

I vote for a book of the Bible, believing that it is so practical that whatever topical issues need to be addressed will be addressed in it's words. And I must agee with craver - the minor prophets are among my favorites - although a go go-through of Jer or Is always does me a world of good.

I'd like to hear more about what it takes ....really takes....... (in the sometimes mundane moments of day to day life) .....to live a life worthy of being called a follower Christ...
